There have been rumors and images of an early prototype of this figure, but Good Smile Company (the same people who make Nendoroids) have finally unveiled their newest release and it looks great! The Link from Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is a classic design that fans of the Game Boy and Super Nintendo games will recognize. Since this design is rarely captured in figure form, that certainly makes this one stand out in a crowded field of Link figures. However, there are some other interesting details with this figure. There are two different versions.
The regular version is the figure plus a sword, shield, and the 2D Link piece from the game. This version is similar to the Figma Skyward Sword Link you can still purchase on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price (around $30). The Regular Link costs 4,630 yen plus tax and shipping if you order directly from Good Smile Company. This version of the figure will be readily available through online retailers like AmiAmi, OtakuMode, and Amazon too.
Before you rush out and purchase the regular version, check out the the DX Edition which comes loaded with a ton of accessories including the Rupee, Pot, Tornado Rod, Hookshot, Bomb, and Baby Maiamai. This version costs a bit more at 5,556 yen plus tax and shipping as a result of the extra accessories. The DX Edition is only available if you order from Good Smile Company in Japan and will undoubtedly be a figure any Legend of Zelda fan will want to have. Both Figma Link figures are currently scheduled to come out in August.
The DX Edition looks very tempting and is different from any other Zelda figures I own so I’m definitely interested in this release. The price is a bit steep at $46 plus tax and shipping, but it seems worth it for all of the stuff you get with the figure. What do you think about these new figures? Are you thinking about buying them?
