Amiibo Background Dioramas Coming to Japan

There is some interesting and exciting news coming out of Japan this week.  According to NintendoEverything.com, Nintendo is releasing some cardboard background displays for Amiibo.  I have reviewed the Warp Pipe Amiibo Stand already, but I think many Amiibo collectors are hungry for more display options and this is a big step in that direction.  These cardboard backgrounds cover both Super Smash Bros. and the new Kirby Amiibos.  Both look excellent on the whole and while you can only show off a few Amiibo in each, I think they look nice.  It looks like you will get a few cardboard props to play around with as well which will be nice.  My only criticism is that the upper cardboard pieces on the Smash display look a bit cheap and I question how well they would hold a bigger Amiibo like Bowser or King Dedede.  Overall though, if you want to display either Smash Bros. Amiibo or Kirby Amiibo, I think this will be a great purchase.  Unfortunately, this item is pretty hot right now and pre-orders are selling out at Japanese retailers even though it was just announced.  The price seems to be around $10 retail which is fair, but most places have already sold out.  Playasia.com has some available for $15 which is reasonable, but perhaps a bit overpriced, especially with shipping costs.  American and European Amiibo fans may have to keep their fingers crossed that Nintendo is going to bring this over to the US and Europe in the coming months.  They have not kept anything from us Amiibo wise that was released in Japan (or not that I can think of anyway) and I don’t see any reason for them to start now.  You can check out lots of pictures of these new backgrounds below and don’t forget to let us know what you think of this new display option in the comments below!
