While it is perhaps no surprise that Nintendo is unveiling new Amiibo at E3, the scope of releases is surprising and impressive. First up, we will be getting three new figures that all tie into the new Zelda game. While Link is familiar to all but the most casual fans, the other two Amiibo (Guardian and Link Rider) are from the new game and look really awesome (Click here if you’d like to see the Breath of Wild trailer). It is great to see Nintendo continue to get creative with the design and scope of Amiibo and these look impressive just like Wolf link does. Right now, we don’t know much about the new Amiibo other than they will come out around the time of the new Zelda which will be 2017. While I am sharing what pictures I can of the new Amiibo, there are even better shots (unfortunately Nintendo has put them on the website in a way that can’t be shared, otherwise I’d be posting them here) and a nice little video showing details of the figures on Nintendo’s E3 website so I encourage you to go and check it out. What do you think of these new Amiibo? I have to admit, they’ve got me excited for the future of Amiibo again!
This was an exciting day for amiibo! I’m certainly going to pick these up! It’s so funny how excited they were about poseable Guardians. Hopefully, this power is used for good, haha.

Nintendo did well to get us excited about Amiibo again. I think interest has been fading for some of the reasons we have discussed. And poseable tentacles. What could go wrong?! XD

Oh dear…
Also, as nice as it was to see the new Super Mario series amiibo and Breath of the Wild amiibo, where was Cloud, Bayonetta, and Corrin?

I really wonder too. Could we see those announcements today? We could use some Amiibo releases between now and November so I could see them coming soon.
