While writing the recent review of Chris Redfield’s Nendoroid, I started thinking about how long I’ve been collecting Nendoroids and which ones are my favorites now after time has passed.  While I have a pretty good sized collection, there are a few Nintendo ones I don’t own (mostly the Fire Emblem ones) but that didn’t stop me from wanting to write a quick article ranking my collection and talking a little bit about each one.  This is not really a review and I encourage you to check out the reviews for each one if you’re interested in learning more about a particular figure.  Obviously, these are just my opinions so take them with a grain of salt.  If you own any of these Nendoroids, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

1st Kirby Nendoroid – Adding magnets to a Nendoroid ended up being a genius move by Good Smile Company because unlike any other Nendoroid, Kirby can get in seemingly any pose you would want.  When you add the excellent face plates and other accessories to this figure, it is the total package.  Lots of fun to play with and easy to create awesome displays.  I’d love to see more versions of Kirby come out (Ice Kirby will be here eventually) and adding some other characters from Kirby (besides Meta Knight) would be incredible too!  Even without any other characters from the video game franchise, Kirby is my favorite Nendoroid thus far.

2nd Luigi Nendoroid – Luigi is not far behind Kirby in my list of favorites and I’m happy to say he was the first Nendoroid I purchased.  The thing is, nostalgia is not why I love this figure so much.  The Nendoroid captures Luigi’s quirky personality so well.  The articulation on Luigi is perfect for the character and it is one of the few Nendoroids I don’t mind the limited articulation.  The accessories are top-notch too.  From iconic enemies like a Goomba and Bullet Bill, the Warp Pipe is also a must have.  When you couple that with the fun Luigi face plates, you’ve got a nearly perfect figure.  I really recommend this figure and fortunately, Luigi and his brother are both still easy to get despite coming out several years ago.

3rd Mario Nendoroid – In theory, Mario is a “bigger” and better version of Luigi.  He comes with a bigger backdrop, more effects, and bricks and question blocks.  Mario has the same articulation and comes with the same amount of enemies so in theory, he is just as good as Luigi.  However, the enemies that come with Mario are not quite as exciting.  The question block and bricks, while cool looking, are a little bit of a pain to actually use.  It is little things like this that give Luigi the edge in the battle of Mario brothers and ultimately, Luigi is a bit more fun to own and play around with even if I do strongly recommend getting both if you’re a Mario fan.

4th Majora’s Mask Link Nendoroid – This is the first Nendoroid I bought as soon as it came out and was really pumped for.  The accessories looked amazing for Link, especially all of the masks.  Unfortunately, I found this figure to be a bit hard to actually pose and display.  While many of the accessories look great, some, like the masks, are smaller and less practical to use than I had hoped.  Link is also a dynamic character in the video games and limited articulation with the Nendoroid hurts.

5th Wind Waker Link Nendoroid – Sneaking into the last place on our list is Wind Waker Link.  This is the only figure on this list that comes from a game that I don’t really love but I bought this early on in my Nendoroid collecting days.  Link has a couple good accessories but some of them aren’t that much fun like the conductor’s baton.  The face plates are really great and fun to use which is one reason why Wind Waker Link still made the list.

So there you have it!  These are my favorite Nendoroids thus far and I could see several of these being changed with upcoming releases.  Even though I’ve been collecting Nendoroids for quite a while, they are still plenty of fun to own and I see my collection growing steadily in 2017!  Which Nendoroids are your favorites and why?  Let us know in the comments below.
